2026 Maui Training Camp

2026 Maui Training Camp

Hosted by Dean Walker

DATES: February 11-16, 2026 // Teammates are going to be in Maui during varying dates between February 6-22nd but we will plan main rides around the President’s Day Weekend.

Dear Team,

Now that the Canyons Challenge is in the rear-view mirror and P2P and LOTOJA are around the corner, it’s time to start making some plans for the upcoming few months. Some of you may remember me speaking at team camp and wearing a patterned “Luau” shirt I bought in Hawaii. I would like to extend a formal invite to all Duoles, and friends of Duoles, for the official / unofficial Maui Team Camp in February 2026.

Jack Boren, Justin Spangler and several of the guys are already planning on coming, and it should be a great time. February is a great time to be in Maui - the riding is awesome, and there are plenty of other things to do in Maui in the winter such as whale-watching, golf, etc…

The dates are somewhat flexible, but we thought working around Presidents Day (February 16th) would be good. We were thinking the week before (around Feb 11th) to Monday the 16th would hopefully work for most people. Rides will be organized somewhat loosely - understanding that there are likely going to be some family commitments to work around. Hopefully we can plan on a Haleakala Day during that time. This is an epic and bucket list ride for sure, but planning will depend on weather. I’ve been snowed on up there before!

Other rides to look at on Strava are the West Maui loop, East Maui Loop and perhaps the road to Hana. Another can’t miss is the West side of the island to Kahakuloa for some of Lorraine’s banana bread!

Those of us who are going are planning on staying in the Kaanapali area - by Lahaina. I will be renting a condo in Kapalua which is a few miles down the road. Any place on that side of the island will work, and there are usually plenty of rooms available but you should probably start making some plans.

We’ll plan on a beach bar-b-que one night, and perhaps other things to do if there is interest. I’m also in discussions with the powers that be regarding a special jersey- which by itself should make the trip worth coming!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions. Hopefully a lot of you can come! Would be fun to have the Doules dominate the KOM’s on the island!
